The media workshop on Tobacco Epidemic was held at Gwalior by Madhya Pradesh Voluntary Health Association in collaboration with Voluntary Health Association of India ,New Delhi. In this workshop representatives from various media houses were present .The workshop was organized at Hotel Central Park on 26 September 2009.Around 60 participants from various media houses participated in the workshop.
Objectives of the Workshop
• Increasing the involvement of media in tobacco control activities.
• To sensitize the media on the issue of Tobacco epidemic.
• To generate awareness among general masses about tobacco epidemic through media.
• Sensitization of media about the Tobacco Law *COTPA 2003
• To tell the media about their role in controlling the Tobacco epidemic.
• Strengthening Tobacco Control Policies in States with the help of media.
